Sound Familiar?

If you have been through a situation like this or supported a friend or family member who has, then Canadian Center of Women’s Empowerment (CCFWE)  wants to hear from you.

The Canadian Center of Women’s Empowerment (CCFWE) work is informed by women who have experienced domestic violence particularly economic abuse. We have seen that, when a relationship ends, women often find it hard to claim their fair share of the financial assets. It’s even harder for women who have not had control of their finances.

The goal of this group is to provide women an opportunity to share their voice on our policy advocacy effort. Your insight informs the work we do from identifying what tools and resources and address the critical policy gaps women need, through to where change is required in policy and practice.

Who is it for

  • Women 18 and older who have been victims/ survivors of DV.
  • Women who want to share what they have gone through so that they can be a force for change.
  • Women who want to be champions and support the CCFWE’s mission.
  • Women who want to join their power with others’ to create a supportive community.
  • Women inspire others to act, courageous, persistent, and believe that social change is possible.

Long term goal

The group provides recommendations that will shape the development of the policy recommendation from the National Task Force for Women’s Economic Justice so that economic injustice is addressed effectively.

You will also help women facing challenges like these, meet other women who have had similar experiences, and also gain skills and information from one another.
