NATIONAL DAY OF ECONOMIC ABUSE 2022

November 26 is Economic Abuse Awareness Day!

Launched in 2019 when the Canadian Centre for Women’s Empowerment called for recognition of Economic Abuse in the development of the National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence and Economic Abuse. CCFWE engaged advocates, financial institutions, partners, and the public to start a national conversation.

Since 2020, advocates and 53 city mayors throughout the country have honoured this day by proclaiming November 26 Economic Abuse Awareness Day, a day intended to raise public awareness of the fight against Economic Abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.

This year’s campaign is joined by organizations from the United Kingdom, Australia, Israel, South Africa, and New Zealand. Please read our global report here.
