Municipal
Advancing Local Systems Change for Economic Security and Safety
Municipal governments play an important role in shaping local housing systems, service access, public safety strategies, and community-based responses to economic abuse. CCFWE engages with municipalities to strengthen local coordination and improve access to supports for people experiencing economic abuse.
We support local governments in integrating economic abuse awareness into housing, homelessness prevention, and community safety planning.
Key Priorities
- Municipal budget planning and resource allocation for GBV-related initiatives
- Alignment of municipal strategies with provincial/territorial and federal frameworks, including the National Action Plan
- Intergovernmental collaboration and service integration across jurisdictions
- Use of municipal policy tools (bylaws, procurement policies, and service standards) to address economic vulnerability
Our Work
We collaborate with municipal governments and community partners to strengthen local responses to economic abuse and improve access to services that support economic security and stability.
