Federal
Shaping National Policy and Law in Canada
Federal systems play a central role in shaping the laws, regulations, and national programs that influence financial safety, economic security, and access to justice. They also play an essential role in setting the policy agenda for the entire country. CCFWE engages with federal ministries, Parliament, regulators, and national consultations to advance systemic responses to economic abuse across Canada.
We work across our policy and systems change priority areas to strengthen protections for people experiencing economic abuse.
Key Priorities
- Federal legislation and national policy reform
- Federal budgets and priority setting
- National GBV policy frameworks and legal recognition of economic abuse
- Working to push forward the National Action Plan to End Gender-based Violence
Our Work
We provide policy recommendations, submissions, and expert analysis to federal government bodies and parliamentary processes to strengthen economic security and address economic abuse across systems.
